No account needed
The app does not require a user account to scan photos, videos, or large files.
This policy explains how SafeFile handles information when you use its duplicate-photo and large-file review features.
Information accessed on your device
When you choose to scan your device, SafeFile requests access to photos and videos. The app uses this access to list media items, identify potential duplicate photos, and identify large files for your review. SafeFile does not begin a scan until you initiate one.
Local processing and deletion
SafeFile processes scan results on your device. In the initial release, the app does not upload scanned photos, videos, file names, or scan results to a cloud service. You choose which items to remove, and SafeFile shows a confirmation step before requesting deletion.
Data retention
SafeFile does not maintain a cloud copy of scanned files or scan results in the initial release. App preferences, such as your selected display theme and large-file threshold, are stored locally on your device.
Permissions
SafeFile requests photo and video permission only to provide the local media scan and cleanup features. You can revoke this permission through your device settings. Revoking permission prevents SafeFile from scanning your media library until permission is granted again.
Security
SafeFile is designed to process supported media information locally. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so you should review selected files carefully before confirming deletion.
Changes to this policy
If a future version introduces cloud processing, analytics, advertising, accounts, or new data uses, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect.
